Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) 

KAIST is a very highly ranked University located in the city of Daejeon in South Korea. The 2016/7 QS World University Rankings ranked KAIST as 46th overall in the world, and 6th in Asia. It was 13th globally in Material Sciences and 14th in Engineering and Technology.

Location

KAIST is located in Daejeon, the 5th largest city in South Korea (Lonely Planet), with a population of approximately 1.5 million. It’s located in the centre of Korea and is a transportation hub – it is possible to travel anywhere in the country in under half a day from Daejeon.

KAIST estimates a single international student living along in an on-campus dormitory requires approximately US$500 per month, or approximately AU$700 per month, for living expenses.
