KAIST is a very highly ranked University located in the city of Daejeon in South Korea. The 2016/7 QS World University Rankings ranked KAIST as 46^th overall in the world, and 6^th in Asia. It was 13^th globally in Material Sciences and 14^th in Engineering and Technology.

KAIST is located in Daejeon, the 5th largest city in South Korea (Lonely Planet), with a population of approximately 1.5 million. It’s located in the centre of Korea and is a transportation hub – it is possible to travel anywhere in the country in under half a day from Daejeon.
