The campus is close to the city centre yet surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is set in a beautiful location, less than 5kms away from the historic city of Lancaster. Excellent road and rail links give you easy access to the famous Lake District National Park, the Yorkshire Dales and the cosmopolitan cities of Manchester, London and Edinburgh.

The island of Great Britain is however easily traversed by the Channel Tunnel as well as via rail, air, or sea.

England’s population of 55.6 million people comprises 84% of the population of the UK. The country has a density of 407 people per square km overall, however London (the capital of England and the UK), has a population at 8.8 million people alone at a density of 5,177 people per square km, more than ten times that of any other British region. Depending upon where you go, you can experience one of the most populated cities in the world, or wander alone on the moors.

England is renowned for many reasons, and is a very popular exchange location. With a well-documented and turbulent history, England offers you the opportunity to visit structures from the Neolithic era, see Roman artefacts, or visit some of the greatest museums and galleries in the world.

Nowhere in England is more than 113km from the sea. *English people consume more tea per capita than anybody else in the world (2.5 times more than the Japanese and 22 times more than the Americans or the French). *French was the official language of England for about 300 years, from 1066 till 1362.

All students must meet standard exchange selection criteria and any host institution restrictions.

GPA of 5.5 or higher required.

Students exchanging during the Michaelmas term can study a course load of no more than 24 ECTS, equivalent to 13.5 UniSA units.  Students exchanging during the Lent/Summer term must study a full-time course load of 32 ECTS, equivalent to 18 UniSA units.

Credits are measured by the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and the following applies: 

• 18 units = 30 ECTS 
• 13.5 units = 22.5 ECTS 

It can sometimes be difficult to make up exactly 22.5 units (not all courses will be worth exactly 7.5 ECTS), but you should be able to get very close. Make sure you check with your Program Director if you don’t have exactly 22.5 ECTS 

Please be aware that the required study load at Lancaster varies based on the semester of study. Students are required to take the following credit load:

• Michaelmas Only (SP5 equivalent): 22.5 ECTS / 13.5 UniSA units
• Lent and Summer (SP2 equivalent): 30 ECTS / 18 UniSA units

If you are a non-native English speaker studying at an English-speaking university, please include a copy of the Secure English Language Test (SELT) certificate eg IELTS or TOEFL you submitted when you applied to your home University/College.
