Established in 1994 CityU has a well-earned reputation as an innovative hub for research and professional education and for addressing global issues and empowering positive change. The University is ranked 15th in Asia and 52nd in 2020 QS World University Ranking.  
 
Situated at the heart of Kowloon peninsula, the CityU campus is well connected to major transportation in Hong Kong. It is an easy, quick trip to CityU from almost every part of the city, especially when travelling by MTR, as the University is just a 5-minute walk from Kowloon Tong Station. 
 
The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) is the first and only School in Hong Kong that to establish missions in advancing research in targeted themes of benefit to societal needs in energy, environment, and sustainability; educating engineers and professionals at undergraduate and  graduate  levels  while adopting  holistic  approaches that  provide  innovative  solutions  to  local  and regional  problems.  
 
The School’s interdisciplinary faculty has research expertise in sustainable technologies for energy, environment and health; urban atmospheric and aquatic environment: science and policies; and smart and healthy cities.  
 
International Friends Club (IFC) is a student buddy programme designed to support inbound and outbound exchange students at CityU. IFC Buddies are senior students who devote their time and effort to foster cultural integration and to promote Student Exchange Programme through various activities. 

Kowloon is an urban area in Hong Kong S.A.R. comprising the Kowloon Peninsula and New Kowloon. With a population of 2 million, Kowloon is the most densely populated urban area in Hong Kong S.A.R.

Kowloon is a popular arts, entertainment and shopping district, with options ranging from high fashion shopping to traditional Chinese shophouses. The Kowloon Waterfront overlooks Victoria Harbour and offers a panoramic view of Hong Kong Island. Strolling along the waterfront on Tsim Sha Tsui promenade, you will discover Avenues of Stars, Hong Kong's version of Hollywood's walk of fame.

Hong Kong, officially the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's Republic of China, is a special administrative region in southern China. It maintains separate governing and economic systems from that of mainland China under the principle of "one country, two systems".

Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated places in the world, with over 7.4 million people living in a 1,104-square-kilometre area. Cantonese, Mandarin and English are the official and most used languages, with a scattering of dialects and other languages also present. As the world's tenth-largest exporter and ninth-largest importer, Hong Kong is one of the world's most significant financial centres and commercial ports. This highly developed territory ranks fourth on the UN Human Development Index.

The dense nature of the region has been a cause for innovation, making it a centre for modern architecture. Hong Kong is the world's most vertical city, with the largest number of skyscrapers of any city in the world. Despite the scale of development, this cosmopolitan city also has a surprisingly green side, thanks to zoning laws.

There is plenty to do and see here. Wander along Victoria Harbour for daily light shows, commute to class via ferry, hike mountains by the sea, shop for cutting edge fashion in massive malls and make your way through night markets. Everything is easily accessible as Hong Kong has some of the best public transportation in the world. There's a lot of history and culture to be found here, as well as the chance to experience the very best of modern living and education.

Did you know?

Hong Kong is made up of more than 200 islands which is why it is often necessary to travel over water bodies. Some of these islands are completely uninhabitable and unreachable.

The Hong Kong Sevens which is a rugby tournament held in March of every year is the largest in the world, with over 28 international teams competing for the prize of $150,000.

All students must meet standard exchange selection criteria and any host institution restrictions.

Only courses from the School of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong is open to exchange students.

Students are classified as full time when registering for a minimum of 12 credits per semester (students must maintain 12 credits to satisfy the Hong Kong Immigration student visa requirements). 
 
Students must take 12 Hong Kong credits for 13.5 UniSA units or 14-15 Hong Kong  credits for 18 UniSA units. 

UniSA students are exempted from meeting language requirements.

City University of Hong Kong does not offer airport pick up. Students will need to make their own way to the campus from Hong Kong International Airport. 

City University of Hong Kong offers on-campus accommodation in private of shared dormitories. On-campus accommodation is highly competitive, please see allocation criteria for further information.

As an exchange partner with the University of South Australia, you do not have to pay tuition fees to City University of Hong Kong, instead you will pay tuition as you would normally at UniSA.
