Founded in 1971, EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht is more commonly known as EBS Universität or EBS Business School. EBS Universität is the oldest private business school in Germany renowned for academic excellence, practical application of knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit. 

There are two campuses, EBS Campus Rheingau and EBS Campus Weisbaden, both 30 minutes from Frankfurt airport and 15 minutes away from each other. Exchange is available with all three EBS faculties, Business School, Law School and Executive Education. Over 90% of the courses at EBS Universität are delivered in English. 

Although your courses may be in English, as part of your exchange at EBS Universität, you are encouraged to participate in a week long intensive German language course before you start your semester.  

EBS Universität organises a wide variety of events on campus such as congresses, EBS Alumni get-togethers, lectures by experts and small concerts. EBS students are committed to helping the homeless, organise lectures and wine tastings, stage court trials for training purposes (moot courts) or run a student management consultancy. A special feature of this commitment are the congresses, such as the EBS Real Estate Congress, the EBSpreneurship Forum, the EBS Symposium or the EBS Law Congress, some of which are attended by top-class speakers and rank among the largest student congresses in Europe. EBS has recently received AACSB accreditation. This accreditation underpins our ambition to offer our students a truly international learning experience. EBS Business School is now one of only twelve business schools in Germany with this accolade.

Wiesbaden, located in central western Germany, is the capital of the federal state of Hesse. The city is one of the oldest spa towns in Europe - its name translates to ‘meadow baths’, and it is famous internationally for its architecture. With approximately 275,000 inhabitants, Wiesbaden is the second largest city in the federal state of Hesse after Frankfurt, and the tenth richest in Germany. Together with Mainz, Darmstadt and Frankfurt, they form the core cities of the Frankfurt Rhine Main region, which is one of the largest and economically strongest metropolitan regions in Europe.

Germany, officially the Federal Republic of Germany, is a country in Central and Western Europe, bordering Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands. It’s an ideal hub for European travel.

Germany was a founding member of the EU, co-founder of the Eurozone and is part of the Schengen Area. The country is also a member of the UN, G7, G20, OECD and NATO. With a population of over 83 million people, Germany is the largest country in the EU and a world power.

Germany is a top tourist location. Outside of German stereotypes of beer, bread, and Oktoberfest, you’ll find that there's more to the country than meets the eye. The capital city of Berlin, is a centre for culture. Art, film and music flourish here from the mainstream to the most underground, and you could spend years trying to see everything in this one city. The country is surprisingly cheap, and both in-country and international travel is affordable for students. With the exception of Poland and the Czech Republic, the cost of living in all of its neighbouring countries is higher, with people in Switzerland paying roughly 50% more for the same things!

Germany has great infrastructure, a reputation for punctuality and is well connected in every area. Diverse locations such as the Baltic Sea, Black Forest, the Rhine, Ruhr Valley and Harz Mountains are just a quick and quiet train trip away. Germany also has the luxury of being one of the safest countries in the world, competing with Norway. If you are not a seasoned traveller, or if this is your first time outside of Australia, Germany is a good choice for you.

Did you know?

The Frankfurt Book Fair is the world’s largest trade fair for books based on both the number of visitors and publishing companies that participate. Berlin is 9 times bigger than Paris, has more bridges than Venice, and is said to have more waterways than Amsterdam, Stockholm and Venice combined.

All students must meet standard short-term exchange selection criteria and any host institution restrictions.

EBS Law Term is open to UniSA Law students only and is only available in Study Period 5 - Fall Semester (September to December)

Credits are measured by the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) 

Due to the high workload required at this partner, we recommend that 24 ECTS – 30 ECTS equal 18 UniSA units, and 20 – 22.5 ECTS equal 13.5 UniSA units. Credit equivalencies can be decided on a case to case basis in conjunction with the Program Director and Regional Officer.

EBS Universität does not offer airport pick up. You will need to make your own way to the campus from Frankfurt International Airport.

EBS Universität does not provide on campus accommodation however on my EBS in the Housing section you will find housing offers from local landlords and EBS students who are looking for or want to sublet flatmates. The login details will be sent to you by the IT department as soon as you are enrolled at EBS.

As an exchange partner with the University of South Australia, you do not have to pay tuition fees to EBS Universität, instead you will pay tuition as you would normally at UniSA. Travel and living expenses are at your own cost. The table below gives an indication of costs you will incur:
