A Fair Go: Bob Hawke's Government in Focus

/Kerry Packer Civic Gallery/This year marks forty years since The Hon Bob Hawke AC was elected as Australia's 23rd Prime Minister. During his time as Prime Minister (1983-1991) Hawke guided the nation through a period of significant social and economic transformation.

This exhibition offers a captivating display of both new and historical items from the University of South Australia's Bob Hawke Collection.

Exhibition: Artists On The Inside

/Kerry Packer Civic Gallery/Artists On The Inside presents artwork created by adults incarcerated in South Australia’s prisons. The works allow contributors to participate in the community both as prisoners and as artists, using art as the medium to create and share stories.

VASL Exhibition

/Kerry Packer Civic Gallery/Curated by Elyas Alavi and Jacquaya McKenzie (Assistant Curator) VASL/وصل exhibition presents a diverse group of South Australian and international contemporary artists – across several media, including painting, installation, performance, and video. The title of the exhibition is borrowed from an ancient word shared in many languages including Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, and Kurdish. It means “union; meeting and connection”.

Gone Shopping

/Kerry Packer Civic Gallery/Department Stores emerged in the late nineteenth century and thrived during the twentieth century. This exhibition of architectural drawings, photographs and advertising material will use the rich collection of the Architecture Museum and will include not only department stores from Adelaide city but also those in suburban shopping malls, and main streets of country towns.

On Australian Soil

/Kerry Packer Civic Gallery/Bob Brown once described Bob Hawke as, ‘Australia’s Environmental Prime Minister’. The Hawke Government oversaw a period of extraordinary progress in Australia’s environmental history, firstly delivering on a 1983 election promise to stop the Franklin River damming. This exhibition will explore the Hawke Government’s environmental actions and policies.
