Teal raises awareness for ovarian cancer

UniSA’s Cancer Research Institute building on North Terrace was lit up in teal earlier this month to raise awareness for ovarian cancer.

World Ovarian Cancer Day was observed on 8 May. The Cancer Research Institute building joined other buildings and landmarks including the Riverbank Footbridge, Adelaide Convention Centre and Adelaide Oval by lighting up in teal to help raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

There is no early detection test or accurate screening test for Ovarian Cancer. Because of this, many women are diagnosed in the later stages of disease, which greatly impacts their chances of survival.

An early detection test for ovarian cancer is under development at UniSA.
