Let Me Be Myself - The Life Story of Anne Frank
10 April - 10 May

The exhibition details the life story of Anne Frank from her birth in Frankfurt in 1929 to her death in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945.

The exhibition connects the personal story of the Frank family with the important historical events of that time: the rise of the national socialists, the isolation and discrimination of the Jewish population, eventually escalating in the Holocaust.

Stories
3 – 26 July

Nikki C Creation Story

A mentoring exhibition by Nikki Carabetta-Baugh, emerging Aboriginal artists and those who not had a solo exhibition.

Everyone has a story, everything has a story and every place has a story. Each and every story is unique to that person, object, time and place; yet somehow they are all linked. We may all have different stories but through time and space we are connected, we share similar experiences, have comparable goals and ambitions in our lives and connect in a myriad of ways. Objects tell their own story, whether bought new or second hand or inherited they absorb our energy and tell their own story as well as reflecting our personality.

All are welcome to visit the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery from 10-14 July to watch a mural being painted live.

'til Death
4 – 13 September

Dying is a universal truth, an objective reality, it belongs to us all; it is as certain as the death of a cut flower. This exhibition looks at the frailty of life, its poignancy, disturbing beauty and inevitabilities.  Flowers that enter hospice travel parallel paths with those to whom they belong. They are allegories for emotions so often hidden, but universally understood, and for the process of change that dying is.

As practitioners in this most intimate of settings we are privy to glimpses through unguarded doors, or down long hospital corridors, of raw emotion, quiet despair and immeasurable strength. Momentary visions that once seen, are impossible to forget. As carers, and the cared for, we are deeply connected.

This exhibition seeks to avoid the constraints of language and connect directly with emotion, establishing a space for conversation for everyone travelling this path.

A path we will all eventually tread. More information

Visualising Mental Health Exhibition 2017
5 – 27 October

Mental ill health is the leading cause of disability worldwide. Psychologists along with other mental health professionals play a significant role in the prevention and treatment of mental ill health. One of the ongoing challenges psychologists face in doing this is communicating important mental health concepts to the wider community. It was this challenge that led Dr Gareth Furber to make contact with matchstudio to discuss how psychologists could collaborate with emerging designers to create engaging and informative mental health education materials for the general public.

Facilitated by Match Studio, this exhibition presents clinical
tools and product prototypes designed and developed by UniSA’s Visual Communication students in consultation with practicing psychologists to ‘visualise’ complex mental health concepts.
