Share knowledge and
expertise to enhance professional development

Think back to when you started your career. For some of you, it could be just recently, and for others it may feel like a lifetime ago. Throughout your journey you've no doubt made mistakes, learned lessons, adapted to change and tasted success. What a wealth of knowledge and experience, from which somebody could benefit.

Join us for the Business Career Mentor Program, an innovative scheme that pairs UniSA Business students with an industry mentor, and have a positive impact on a student's career while gaining the personal satisfaction of being able to help someone. It can be very fulfilling to know that you're directly contributing to somebody's growth and development.

Take this opportunity to refine or develop your own interpersonal, leadership and management skills and expand your professional networks. Geographical location isn't an issue, as we have mentors and mentees based locally, interstate and internationally and are able to facilitate face-to-face as well as online mentoring relationships.

Why be a mentor?

  • Inspire a student to reach their career potential
  • Identify talent for your organisation
  • Support corporate social responsibility agendas
  • Reflect and share your experiences

Requirements

  • Possess considerable (minimum of 2 years) industry experience
  • Meet with your mentee for 6 x one-hour meetings over the 30-week mentoring connection
  • Complete a Mentor Induction Course (online, at your leisure)

What others are saying

When asked what I found to be the most valuable aspect of my degree to date, I always reply with The Business Mentorship Program. Stretching outside the realm of academia, becoming a mentee opened my eyes to a world abundant in opportunities, business networks and professional individuals sharing a common passion for commerce and innovation.

No matter how busy you are with your studies you should always make time to do that extra little bit until you no longer have to introduce yourself. This is a true skill that only a few can handle well, but the mentor program was a fantastic way to connect with leaders in industry and advance your career right now.

Mentoring over the last six months has been very rewarding both professionally and personally. Assisting my mentee to consider, refine and plan her future as a marketing professional has resulted in me making the same considerations for my career future.
