Accommodation Information

We have a mix of housing available in a number of towns in rural South Australia for students undertaking placements. Students from other Universities may also access this accommodation subject to availability.

Information and rules for use of the student accommodation

You will be provided with a link to Student Accommodation Guide before you access your allocated housing. The guide has information about the accommodation, together with rules and guidelines regarding its use.

Who can use university accommodation?

  • Students who are Australian citizens
  • Students who hold permanent residency status

Accommodation office information

Our administration office for placement co-ordination is located at the Whyalla Campus. All enquiries regarding accommodation are handled by this office.  The office is staffed during working hours; Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5.00pm.

Booking accommodation

If you have been allocated a placement through the Clinical Placement Unit (CPU), you will receive an automated email from the DRH Student Information System (SIS) asking you to make a formal accommodation request at sites where we have accommodation. (See list on the accommodation page)

You should action this request as soon as possible after receiving your automated email. If accommodation is available you will be sent an email indicating that a room has been allocated to you, with further details to follow closer to your placement start date. If you do not respond accommodation will not be allocated to you. If the accommodation is fully booked at the time of your placement you will be contacted.

Students from other universities & training organisations

If you are a domestic student not allocated through the Clinical Placement Unit (CPU) and are looking for support with accommodation in our areas you must register with us. For registration details and accommodation availability contact us at DRHStudents@unisa.edu.au
