A highly experienced company director and non-executive board chairperson, James has made an impact across the finance, banking, retirement living and higher education sectors.
With a focus on audit, risk, finance and governance James’ leadership and strategic vision have shaped the organisations he has led and served. He has made a significant contribution to improving the lives of older Australians through his work with COTA – Council on the Ageing – advancing the interests of seniors and successfully influencing policy development in the retirement housing sector.
In 2023 James was recognised for his efforts in this area, being made an Honorary Life Member of the Retirement Living Council, and in 2024 was inducted into the Property Council of Australia Hall of Fame. James became a member of the University of South Australia Council in 2015 and served as the Pro Chancellor before accepting the position of Deputy Chancellor in May 2024 as a member of the Adelaide University Transition Council.
James’ extensive experience in governance and community engagement has been invaluable to both the University of South Australia and to the higher education sector within the state.
