Ben has been a member of the South Australian Legislative Council since March 2023.
He is passionate about regional and rural Australia and is co-director of Hello Friday, a creative agency located in the Limestone Coast of South Australia servicing business predominately associated with primary industry or education. He is also the co-creator of well-known Australian children’s character, George the Farmer.
His work and contributions to the community have been recognised through being a winner of the InDaily Top 40 under 40 Business Leaders in South Australia, being named a 2016 Google Australia Regional Online Hero and an Education Award for Brand South Australia.
Ben has previously lectured at TAFE SA in multimedia and is a talented musician, regularly performing at community events throughout the Limestone Coast.
He has been a board member of South Australia’s largest community foundation, Stand Like Stone, a board member of the Australian Graphic Designers Association (SA Chapter) and a board member of the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce.
Ben was elected to the City of Mount Gambier Councillor as a Councillor in 2018 and became Deputy Mayor in 2022. He remains actively involved in numerous local organisations and is passionate about the importance of UniSA’s Mount Gambier Campus and tertiary education for the Limestone Coast.
