Seven honorary awards conferred in April

COMMUNITYSeven UniSA honorary awards were conferred during student graduation ceremonies held at Pridham Hall in April.
UniSA Deputy Chancellor Michael Abbott AO KC.UniSA Deputy Chancellor Michael Abbott AO KC and University of Adelaide Chancellor Catherine Branson AC SC were both awarded Honorary Doctorates in recognition of their service to the university and its community.
Professors Allan Evans, John Boland and Julie Mills were each named Emeritus Professors, while Adelaide University Deputy Chancellor Jim Hazel and Kelvin W Johnson were named University Fellows. Johnson’s award was conferred posthumously and accepted by his family on his behalf.
Judy Johnson receiving Kelvin W Johnson’s posthumous award from UniSA Chancellor John Hill.As an Elder and Chairperson of the Nipapanha Aboriginal Community, Johnson shared knowledge and special places on Country with UniSA outdoor education students for almost 20 years, and established engagement initiatives and activities to support conservation, which continue today.
