About the study

The University of South Australia is seeking participants for our next 2-day/1-night live-in sleep study running throughout March and April of 2024.

The study focuses on mixed reality (MR) distributed teams’ reaction time, situational awareness, trust, fatigue, mood, and workload during an extended period of wakefulness. This novel study will use the Microsoft HoloLens 2 to investigate 2D and 3D MR distributed team performance. 

The study will involve a period of sleep restriction (5 hour sleep the night prior to the study followed by 27 hours of wakefulness).

The study includes performance testing and all meals are provided.

Eligibility Requirements

Gender: male and female

Age: 18-55

Location: University of South Australia Magill Campus Sleep and Chronobiology Laboratory

Other criteria: healthy, non-smoking adults with no history of sleep disorders

Benefits

All meals are provided, and participants will be financially compensated with an honorarium of up to $450for their participation in the study.
