Over the past weeks the European Commission approved 23 new multiannual national programs, seven under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and 16 under the Internal Security Fund (ISF). The total funding for the agreed programs is approximately €2.4 billion.
22 national programs were approved by the Commission earlier this year and the remaining 13 national programs will be approved later in 2015. With a total budget of almost €7 billion for AMIF and ISF for the period 2014-20, these Funds are to invest in an open and secure Europe, supporting member state’s efforts in the fields of asylum, migration and integration, and internal security.
