In April 2018 a collection of papers from the Australian Society for French Studies 2016 Conference was published in a special issue of the Australian Journal of French Studies. This is the second collection of papers published from the event, following the February publication of a special edition of the French Cultural Studies journal.

The Australian Journal of French Studies is an international, peer-reviewed journal devoted to French and Francophone literature, culture and society. The special edition is edited by Natalie Edwards (University of Adelaide), Chris Hogarth (UniSA) and Ben McCann (University of Adelaide). The Australian Society for French Studies 2016 Conference was held at UniSA with financial support from several organizations, including the Embassy for France in Australia and the EU Centre for Mobilities, Migrations, and Cultural Transformations at UniSA, which also provided indispensable staff help in organizing the event.

The special edition focussed on the pressing issue of ‘Mobility and Migration in France and the Francophone World’. The special edition also included an Afterword from Professor Charles Forsdick, from the University of Liverpool, UK, who was supported by the Hawke EU Centre to give a keynote address at the Australian Society for French Studies Conference.
