“Studying at UniSA has enhanced my intercultural awareness and professional skills. I’ve become more confident when speaking English.”

Alicia Fasel

What inspired you to study at UniSA?

UniSA has a good reputation and a variety of marketing courses that fit perfectly with my career.

What do you enjoy most about studying at UniSA?

UniSA has awesome facilities along with weekly events to socialise and meet other students, which is great.

Why did you choose Adelaide and what was your first impression? What do you like most about Adelaide?

Australia was my first choice because of its language, nature and more laid-back culture. I chose Adelaide because it is a cheaper city and less touristic compared to Sydney and Melbourne. Adelaide is a large city, but it is very easy to orientate oneself especially in the month of March, which offers thousands of events and festivals that I enjoyed including the Adelaide 500 and the Adelaide Fringe.

Has the Buddies Program made it easier for you to make friends and/or to get involved in the UniSA community?

The Buddies Program helped me a bit, but I would say Orientation Day was the most helpful as I was able to get to know other students.

How would you describe the quality of teaching staff? How have they supported you during your studies?

The teaching staff at UniSA is high quality. They provide you with a lot of practical examples and organise external guests to present during class, which is fantastic. They are also very supportive and understanding.

What did you think of the campus facilities? Did you have a favourite spot on campus?

UniSA’s facilities are great, clean and modern. The campus is large and spacious. My favourite spot on campus is the outside area in front of the Jeffrey Smart Building.

Tell us about the campus events you attended?

I attended the City West Campus Fair and the Welcome Party for International Students. These events provided me with great opportunities to get to know even more students.

What advice would you give to a student considering coming to Adelaide and studying at UniSA?

Go for it! You won't regret it. It’s a once in a lifetime experience!

How do you think UniSA will help you succeed in your career?

Studying at UniSA has enhanced my intercultural awareness and professional skills. I’ve become more confident when speaking English.
