University of South Australia has become one of the only two Australian universities, to be welcomed into the CFA Institute University Recognition Program. Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Applied Finance (double degree) and Bachelor of Applied Finance have been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA (Charted Financial Analyst) Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the program. These programs position students well to obtain the CFA designation, which has become the most respected and recognized investment credential in the world.

The CFA Institute is a global membership association that administers the CFA and CIPA (Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement) curriculum and exam programs worldwide. Entry into the CFA Institute University Recognition Program signals to potential students, employers, and the marketplace that the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Applied Finance curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations. Through participation in this program, University of South Australia is eligible to receive a number of student scholarships for the CFA Program each year.
