In a global, industrialised food system decisions are being made every day about what we eat, when, where and how. As food consumers how do we get a say in the way our food system operates?

Join Dr Sue Booth online as she introduces the idea of food democracy, enabling food consumers to become food citizens. She will explore the questions of:

  • How safe is our food?
  • Is our current food system broken?
  • How do we use democratic processes to re-gain control of the food we eat?

As food consumers living in a democracy, we have a right to say how our food system could be improved, and to take steps – however small – to improve the system. This event will explore how democracy can be used to empower citizens to have choices and to find greater satisfaction in the food we eat.

Dr Sue Booth's presentation will be followed by an In-Conversation with author and journalist, Tory Shepherd.

This event will now be hosted online. Please register your interest so that we can keep you up-to-date. A link to this online event will be sent to registrants to view the broadcast.
