What is the influence of an acute bout of low intensity exercise on connections between brain regions and cognitive control?

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are aged 18 to 30 or 65 to 75 years of age
  • Completed no more than 150 minutes of physical activity in the past 7 days
  • Have no neurological or psychological diagnosis
  • Have normal or corrective vision • Have not been previously diagnosed with a psychiatric disease
  • Do not mind having caps and electrodes attached to your head
  • Feel comfortable exercising for 30 minutes at low intensity

Participation involves:

  • 2 Sessions (3 hours each) at the Sansom Institute for Health Research, UniSA City East Campus, held 7 days apart
  • Assessment of brain and cognitive health before and after low intensity exercise
  • Collection of blood and saliva samples before and after low intensity exercise
  • Wearing a physical activity monitor between sessions 1 and 2

Participants will be awarded $40 on completion of the study
