Assessing the association between the consumption of artificial sweeteners and Type 2 Diabetes

We are looking for people willing to take part in a study that assesses association between consumption of artificial sweeteners and type 2 diabetes.

We would like to hear from you if you are:

  • Male or female aged over 18
  • No known diabetes, prediabetes or metabolic disorder
  • Have not been using artificial sweeteners for the last two (2) weeks
  • Volunteers must be agreeable to consuming 600ml artificially sweetened soft drink or sparkling mineral water daily for 2 x 2 week periods

If you would like to participate, you would be asked to attend the UniSA Clinical Trial Facility City East Campus for a total of 4 x 3 hour visits. During these visits, blood will be taken from a small tube in the arm.  You will also be asked to wear a continuous glucose monitor sensor for 2 x 2 weeks periods and to scan the sensor every 6 - 8 hours

Participants will be reimbursed a $100 honorarium on their completion of the study
