CITE Engagement with AIC

On Friday 29 September Dylan Chown addressed AIC students from grades 7 – 11 and their respected teachers. Dylan reminded students that after difficulty comes ease, and after such an intense testing period, new opportunities and a new day awaits. Dylan emphasised that the resilience and commitment to the College by leaders, teachers, parents and students proved they were part of something very special. That their College, after its trials and tribulations has demonstrated it is “no ordinary College, rather an extraordinary one”. Dylan challenged students, asking them, what would they contribute after the storm, how would they shape the narrative and the new chapter in their school? He asked, what does it mean to be an AIC student?

On the Thursday evening of 28 September, Professor Mohamad Abdalla and Dylan Chown were invited along with the Mayor of the City of Charles Sturt, Angela Evans as special guest to AIC’s 2017 Year 12 Graduation. It was a tremendous night for the College. Graduating students made special mention of their teachers in the ceremony and shared with the audience many touching, humorous and powerful contributions on their schooling journey. Professor Mohamad and Dylan were quiet surprised to receive awards acknowledging the Centres special relationship with AIC.
