The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre presents published author, musician, artist and Mother, Gill Hicks. Narrowly escaping death, she was horrifically and permanently disabled by the actions of a terrorist attack in London during the summer of 2005, Gill left her career within architecture, design and the arts, notably a respected curator and publisher in London, to devote her life to deterring anyone from following a path of violent extremism and the destructive ideologies that seek divisive outcomes within our global societies. She returned to her native Australia after 25 years in London, continuing her passion for communicating the importance of recognising our shared Humanity by launching a new practice exploring Music, Art and Narrative as powerful forms of universal language.

Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor: Aboriginal Leadership and Strategy, UniSA. Join our panel of experts who will discuss the need for a two-way education system that recognises and respects the cultures, languages and identities of Aboriginal children and young people, as set out in Article 14 of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Aboriginal Peoples. Panellists will include University of South Australia Professors and members of Purkarninthi, the UniSA Elders in Residence.

CONTACT brings together a group of diverse emerging artists exploring the themes of identity, politics, race, migration and modern slavery through photography, painting, installation and video. Commissioned and presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, this exhibition is curated by South Australian artist Elyas Alavi.
26 February to 1 April >> Jesse Jones: Tremble, Tremble
Created by Ireland’s Jesse Jones at the height of the abortion referendum, Tremble, Tremble takes as its starting point the protest chant of Italian women in the 1970s: “Tremble, tremble, the witches are back!”. Showing now at the Samstag Museum of Art.
31 March to 30 April >> Life, Death and Dying
Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, Life, Death and Dying is a ground-breaking contemporary art and film project, led by socially-engaged artist, Daniel Connell. This exhibition uses art to investigate encounter in the palliative care clinical setting and examines the question ‘What is a good death?’ through the lens of eight individuals from very different cultures, faiths and life experiences.

On display in The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre’s Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, this exhibition explores Australia's industrial relations from the colonial period to the present day, with a focus on Hawke’s impact on industrial relations in Australia through his work at the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and as Prime Minister of Australia.
