05 December 2023

This workshop will bring together researchers across disciplines and institutions in Adelaide whose work is relevant to ethical, philosophical, legal, and social issues in emerging and future technologies. This encompasses the impact of these technologies on domains such as health, environment, employment, education, communication, and beyond.

The primary focus of this event is to chart a path for building this as an area of research strength in Adelaide. Our scope at this stage is deliberately broad, and we are also interested in engaging with researchers who may not traditionally position themselves within this area of research.

Date: December 5, 2023

Time: 09:00 - 13:00

Location: Ground floor (EHG-10A/B), UniSA Enterprise Hub, 9 Light Square, Adelaide

Catering: Coffee, morning tea, & light lunch (please email elinor.pryce@adelaide.edu.au regarding any dietary requirements)

In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, it is imperative that we proactively shape the ethical, legal and social debate surrounding these advancements. This workshop aims to (i) enhance collaboration across disciplines and institutions for research relevant to this topic; (ii) identify opportunities, challenges and strategies for building this as an area of research strength in Adelaide, particularly in the context of the merger; and (iii) inform the development of a planning proposal and concrete next steps.

This workshop is funded by a seed funding grant awarded to Dr Hilary Bowman-Smart through UniSA Clinical & Health Sciences.

Please be aware that available spaces for this event are limited. To participate or hear more about this project, please reach out to either Hilary at hilary.bowman-smart@unisa.edu.au or Elinor at elinor.pryce@adelaide.edu.au by Friday, November 24.
