29 June -
30 June 2023

Sightlines 2023 is part festival and part symposium. It continues to have two main purposes: to showcase the full range of screen production that occurs in the higher education sector; and to contribute to the development of screen production as an academic research discipline.
The focus of this event will be screenings and demonstrations of screen-based creative practice research (showcasing completed works and works in-progress), drawing in practitioners working with an array of platforms and methodologies.
Keynote speaker
Lisa Scott is a multi-award winning producer of quality scripted drama through her company Highview Productions. Her recent productions include A Sunburnt Christmas for Stan and the series The Tourist, which premiered on Stan, BBC1 and HBO Max in early 2022 to critical acclaim and was the most watched drama in the UK last year.

Sightlines Experience SA Day Trip:
Saturday 1 July 2023

You are invited to join your Sightlines and ASPERA colleagues on this specially curated day trip, designed to make your visit to South Australia an unforgettable experience.
We start the day (not too early) with a visit to the South Australian Film Corporation studios at Glenside, a picturesque State Heritage-listed dwelling built in 1870. The superbly preserved building has been adapted and expanded to provide a range of screen production facilities from sound stages to a screening theatre.
Next we head to McLaren Vale for a delicious lunch at the Victory Hotel, perched on Sellicks Hill with gorgeous views of the coast. The Victory dates back to 1858, with an amazing wine cellar and wine by the glass made from vineyards right behind the pub. Their delicious two-course set menu offers plenty of choice and features local, seasonal produce.
After lunch, we head to the Insta-worthy d’Arenberg Cube for a private tasting and tour of the Alternate Realities Museum – an experience in itself!
We then head to a boutique winery featuring an exciting range of Mediterranean varietals that thrive in the McLaren Vale maritime climate.
We return you to the city by 6pm.
Ticket price: $150+BF which includes transport, 2-course lunch (excluding drinks), wine tastings and entry fees.
NOTE: registrations for the day trip close Wednesday 21 June.
