Chief Executive Officer, Guide Dogs SA/NT

Kate Thiele has more than 15 years of board and executive experience in the private sector (including with one of Australia's top 100 public-listed companies) as well as with two of the nation's leading not-for-profit organisations. She has wide-ranging experience across diverse industries such as community services, health, retail and manufacturing, and is currently chief executive officer of Guide Dogs, South Australia and Northern Territory.

Having completed a Master of Business Administration and as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Ms Thiele maintains a deep commitment to, and a strong background in leadership, cultural change, board governance, strategy development, marketing and stakeholder engagement. Upon taking up her role at Guide Dogs SA/NT in 2009, she has sought to make a tangible difference by assisting people with sensory loss to live independent and dignified lives.

Ms Thiele is also a board member of Minda Incorporated, the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia and serves on the University of South Australia's MBA Advisory Board. Her previous board appointments include the Vocational Education, Employment and Training Board, Deputy Board Member of the Training and Skills Commission, and member of the Training Regulation Reference subcommittee.
