Study exploring the relationship between virtual reality enhanced exercise and episodic memory retention

Are you:

  • Aged between 18 - 30 or 65+ years of age
  • Have not been diagnosed with dementia
  • Do not have blindness or vision difficulties which cannot be corrected by the use of glasses/contacts
  • Are not currently taking any medications that may affect your physical or cognative abilities
  • Have not been previously diagnosed with a medical or psychiatric disease
  • Do not have any k nown intellectual disabilities

Participation involves:

  • 4 Sessions (1-2 hours each) at The University of South Australia (City East, North Tce)
  •  Pre-exercise  screening and assessment of brain and cognitive health  (session 1)
  •  Moderate exercise on a recumbent exercise bike for 12 minutes with simultaneous immersion in a virtual     world(all sessions)
  •  Assessments of episodic memory retrieval following exercise and virtual reality immersion (all sessions)
