2016 International Student Academic Excellence Award: Postgraduate Research

Producing 23 research papers and winning three prestigious postgraduate PhD scholarships, Son has achieved many things during his time studying in Australia. Despite his modest upbringing, he is working towards becoming a professor; initially completing his Masters study at the University of South Australia in 2010, before returning to Vietnam to work for the Thai Nguyen University of Technology. Two years later, he returned to Adelaide to study a PhD in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of South Australia after winning the prestigious Endeavour scholarship from Australian Government. Sending half of his scholarship money to his family back home and paying for his younger brother’s university fees, Son’s research project will serve as a fundamental step towards developing a VCIM system that will help thousands of business’ worldwide run more effectively.
