Venture into outer space these school holidays with a Planetarium experience. Enjoy a tour of the cosmos guided by one of the Planetarium’s experienced astronomers and watch the mysteries of our Solar System unravel on the dome-shaped ceiling.

Did you know?
The highest mountain and volcano of any of the known planets is on Mars. It is called Olympus Mons and, being almost 22km tall, is three times the size of Mount Everest.

Important Notes

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the session commencing to be seated comfortably and to avoid disappointment as entry into the Planetarium is NOT permitted once the session has started for safety reasons.
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Adults are required to purchase a ticket.
  • No food or drink is permitted in the Planetarium.
  • Prams are not permitted in the Planetarium.
  • All sessions require a minimum number of bookings to go ahead.
  • Please note the Planetarium is not suitable for children under 4 years old. If you do bring younger children, we request that those who become restless and noisy please exit the Planetarium with their guardian as a courtesy to other patrons.

PLANETARIUM EXPERIENCE

TICKETS from $10 - Bookings essential - *ages 3+ require a ticket.

  • 1 hour Planetarium experience with a full dome movie 
  • 90 minute Full Night Sky Tour - Experience a full tour of the incredible night sky as our astronomer takes you on a journey through the ever changing constellations.  This session focuses on the positions of the Planets as well as the different galaxies, nebulae and star clusters that the celestial heavens showcase plus a full dome movie. Weather permitting, you’ll be able to see these same objects through a professional telescope, which will take place afterwards on the university grounds.  An experience not to be missed!

PLANETARIUM EXPERIENCE & CLASSROOM CRAFT ACTIVITY

TICKETS $26 PER CHILD, $10 PER ADULT (adult/concession ticket required for the Planetarium experience)

Explore the ever changing constellations that travel through our night sky. Journey through the solar system and visit different and captivating planets, followed by a full dome movie.  The ultimate learning experience that will engage and excite children.

  • 10am-12.30pm session - ages 4-8 - Planetarium experience with movie Tycho to the Moon followed by time in the classroom where you will have fun with playdoh learning more about the sun and planets while creating your own solar system.
  •  2pm-4.30pm - ages 8+ - Planetarium experience with movie Wildest Weather in the Solar System followed by time in the classroom where you will assemble and paint a model of the solar system whilst we go through each planet in detail.
