Marvel at the stars and planets at the Adelaide Planetarium!

Did you know?
It takes sunlight 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach the Earth’s surface.

Home to the only planetarium in Adelaide that is open to the public all year round, the Adelaide Planetarium at UniSA, offers a unique interactive experience to explore the universe, galaxy and Solar System.

Marvel as you journey across space and time with realistic projections of the Constellations, showcasing the position of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars on the Planetarium's iconic dome ceiling from the comfort of your seat.

Following the celestial tour of the night sky comes the experience of a fulldome movie including titles such as Starlight, Black Holes, Cosmic Collisions, Wildest Weather in the Solar System and Astronaut just to name a few.  The Planetarium has over 20 fulldome movies that are shown in various sessions.

Based at the University of South Australia's Mawson Lakes Campus, on Level 2 of Building P, our completely air-conditioned dome seats 45 people in specially-designed chairs that allow the audience to admire all parts of the night sky in ease and comfort.

Built in 1972, the Planetarium is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022.
