Divisional Director, Finance & Resources (Division Education Arts & Social Sciences)

It
was the broadness of the role at UniSA that really appealed to me. I
realised it was much more than just a finance role. The people I spoke to
were all really interesting and there seemed to plenty of opportunities and
challenges.
My role itself is extremely diverse. I use my financial knowledge to analyse how UniSA is working as a business. Working closely with HR, Business Development and Marketing my work covers many areas.
What makes UniSA such an interesting organisation is the fact it’s so varied. Everybody has the opportunity to directly contribute, working together to enrich people’s lives. UniSA may not have the background other ‘sandstone’ universities have, but that means we can think and act quicker. It’s a really positive thing to be part of that organic growth.
The support that UniSA offers is excellent. Staff are encouraged to better themselves professionally. UniSA offers ongoing support whatever your development goals, knowing that any form of tertiary education can only lead to a more rounded individual.
It’s a great environment for more junior staff to learn and progress. If you’ve got a lot of ideas, you’ll get heard. If you’re committed about being successful you’ll be supported to do so. Importantly, UniSA encourages you to bring your own personal slant to your role. You can be yourself, contribute and make a difference.
