Welcome to Waterproofing Northern Adelaide Region

The Waterproofing Northern Adelaide Region (WNAR) project is a joint venture in innovative water management between the adjoining City Councils of Salisbury, Playford and Tea Tree Gully. The project aims to bring benefits to the 300,000 residents and local industries within the council areas by exploiting the resource values of their stormwater flows and associated drainage channels. The project aims to eventually harvest up to 24 GL per annum of the flows generated within the region while creating environmentally sustainable and attractive water environments along the flow paths.

A WNAR Subsidiary of the project has entered into an agreement with the SA Water Centre for Water Management and Reuse at the University of South Australia in which the Centre undertakes a series of investigations aimed at improving the efficiency of the project systems and assisting with the training and the establishment of training aids for the staff involved in the design and operation of the systems.
