Water and Wastewater Treatment Group (WWT)
Water and Waste Water Treatment Group (WWT) is a newly established research team at SA Water Centre for Water Management & Reuse. Under the leadership of Senior Research Fellow, Dr John van Leeuwen, WWT research activities focus on the following areas:
- Development of models and software for prediction of treatment chemicals and process control in water treatment
- Assessment and development of innovative technologies in water and wastewater treatment
- Assessment of the treatability of raw surface and wastewaters by conventional technologies
- Characterization of natural organics and identification and fate studies of anthropogenic pollutants
- Development of models for integration into treatment control hardware
