Using authoring software
The web authoring tool FrontPage is the University's standard application. It is assumed you will have FrontPage knowledge before converting and/or maintaining a website. If you need to attend a FrontPage training course, see Training and support. If you use other software packages such as Dreamweaver, you will not receive University support.
FrontPage versions
If you want to find out which version of FrontPage your machine has
- Open up FrontPage
- Go to Help
- Select About Microsoft FrontPage
There are slight variations in the instructions for authoring using the different versions eg FrontPage 2002 or FrontPage 2000. This guide caters to FrontPage 2002. You can upgrade your FrontPage version by contacting your local IT support.
