Developer resources
The BI Team has put together a set of resources to assist
developers become familiar with the UniSAinfo Reporting tools used within
the University. Prior to developing and publishing new cubes and
reports you should browse the following web pages to gain an
understanding of the procedures put in place to manage the
development and publishing of cubes and reports.
Note: with the advent of the enterprise data warehouse (edw) there are modified/additional developer standards - these are indicated on the page by the notation (*edw).

Use the template provided to help formalise the functional requirements of the cube/report being developed - Functional specification template.

Use the template provided to document the technical requirements of the cube/report being developed - Technical specification template.

Refer to the Developer standards - if your cube or report does not comply it will not be published on production and you will be asked to rework the development.

Make sure you use dimensions that are available in the Glossary, inform Planning and Assurance Services if a new dimension needs to be added to the list.

Publish your cube to Development and test it.

Raise a publication request to publish your cube to Production

Submit the completed publication form to Planning and Assurance Services.
