Where there’s smoke, there’s a sausage sizzle

The main event was a traditional, down-to-earth Australian sausage sizzle – with ice-cold beer.

There’s nothing like the slightly smoky waft of a sausage sizzle to whet the appetite, or to attract the attention of hungry passers-by.

So when UniLife, the professional student services provider for UniSA, put on a sausage sizzle to welcome Chancellor Dr Ian Gould on the day of his first University Council meeting, it got just the kind of turnout it was looking for.

A throng of students, staff – including Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Høj and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Professor Peter Lee - and several Council members joined the Chancellor in a cheery getting to know you at the City West Aroma Café.

Dr Gould was not alone in chomping into a suitably sizzled snag, housed in a slice of white bread and topped with onions and tomato sauce.

The convivial affair also marked the beginning of a new association between Aroma Café and UniLife. They have joined forces to provide quality functions and events to students on all campuses.
