Moving in and moving forward

Services and support for learning and teaching are now up and running out of the newly established Learning and Teaching Unit (LTU) at UniSA.
Housed in the recently re-named David Pank Building, the City West location represents a fresh and exciting stage in the evolution of the LTU and according to Director, Professor Margaret Hicks (pictured right) the new Unit is set to be even more focused on its teaching and learning support services.
"There are also a whole lot of exciting initiatives happening both within UniSA and externally around teaching and learning. There is now greater opportunity to focus on things such as the new Teaching and Learning Framework and the Step 2010 process," Prof Hicks says.
"Having a central physical location puts us in a much better position to continue delivering teaching and learning services across the University and be even more involved in these strategies."
Hicks says that many important services offered through the Unit will continue, with even greater attention to tailored support for Divisions, Schools, staff and students.
"As a central unit we will continue to support learning and teaching services on each metropolitan campus through Learning Connection, as well as providing online services vital to teaching and learning for staff and students," Prof Hicks says.
"We continue to have responsibility for core programs such as Teaching@UniSA and teaching into the Graduate Certificate of Education (University Teaching), and support a wide range of activities for academic staff across the Divisions – from assessment to online teaching and learning to curriculum development.
"Support is also provided across the University for internal and external awards, grants schemes and advice in support of UniSAnet.
"The exciting thing about being more central and integrated with the University is being better able to respond to specific initiatives and individual needs around teaching and learning."
