UniSA wins export award

2004 Business SA Export Award for Education trophyUniSA has been acknowledged for its contribution to the State economy, winning the 2004 Business SA Export Award for Education.

The awards, announced on September 10, recognise South Australia's most innovative export companies and aim to help companies to benchmark against industry standards. This year's success follows wins for UniSA in the education category in 1999, 2000 and 2001.

The award acknowledged the university's position as one of Australia's leading providers of transnational education – the commendation summed up by Business SA's comments:

Founded only 13 years ago, the University of South Australia has quickly become one of Australia's leading providers of transnational education.

Today it is South Australia's largest university with more than a third of its 30,000 students coming from 88 countries around the world.

Strong leadership and a commitment to continuous development as a vibrant, modern and innovative institution ensure that UniSA will continue to go from strength to strength.

UniSA, along with eight other award winners, will represent South Australia at the National Export Awards to be held on the Gold Coast in December.
