Optimise JPEG

The following steps can be taken to further reduce the file size of an edited JPEG file. Check the file size of the newly modified JPEG image in Windows Explorer (right-click on Start and then click Explore) to determine if it fits within the guidelines detailed on the Image size page. The following procedure should be followed if your image is larger than the recommended file size.

• Open the image in Photo Editor
• Click File on the tool bar
• Click Save As and the following window will open.

1. Navigate to the folder you created at Step 1: Create folder.
2. Type the new file name.
3. Click the More button and the following window will open.

• Click and drag the JPEG quality factor slider (indicated by the arrow in the image above) to the left to reduce the file size. Only reduce the quality a small amount or you may totally degrade the quality of the image.
• Click Save

Check the file size in Windows Explorer (right mouse click Start and then Explore). If it is not low enough, open the edited image again and repeat the process above until the optimum file size is achieved.
