Crop image

If you need to crop a selected part of the image you will need to:

• Click the Select tool as indicated by the arrow in the image below.

• Left-click the image and with the mouse held down, drag the selection frame over the section of image to be retained.
• Release mouse.
• Adjust selection tool handles by clicking and dragging to fine-tune the selection area.

Note: A dimension indicator is located in the bottom right of the screen. This shows the width and height of the crop area and is a useful tool if you are preparing images to fit a specific size. The image below shows the crop area and the dimension indicator.

 

• Click Image on the tool bar.
• Click Crop.

The following window will appear.

• Click OK as indicated by the arrow in the image above. You don’t need to change any of the other settings on this window.

Check the actual size of your newly cropped image to ensure that the physical dimensions are within the recommended limits outlined in Image size. To do this:

• Click Image on the tool bar.
• Click Resize.

The Resize window will appear, showing the pixel dimension of the image. If it is outside the recommended limits, you will need to resize the image.
