Turnitin

Turnitin is an online tool subscribed to by the University of South Australia.  Turnitin compares the text content of student assignments with other student assignments, certain material on the internet and journal articles in the Turnitin database.

Once an assignment has been lodged into the Turnitin database, an originality report will be generated, and can be used by staff for checking the originality of the content of the students' assignments.

To become a Turnitin instructor staff can log an IT Help Desk Service Call requesting Turnitin instructor access in the Short Description of your problem field. Within 24 hours staff will receive an automatically generated email from Turnitin.  Staff can use this email to create a Turnitin instructor profile.

Students can use the Turnitin self serve class to check their own work.
