Word template

When creating a content object (Web site) you are given the choice of creating the site using the Word or FrontPage Template. If the Word template is selected, all additional Web pages will be created anticipating that the Word template will be attached to each page prior to editing the page. The Word template must be downloaded and installed on each computer that Web pages are edited on. The template must then be attached to each new Web page created.

Download and install template

Click Enable Macros

C:/Documents and Settings/YOUR USERNAME/Application Data/Microsoft/Templates

Do not change the file name of the template.

Note: If you are installing the template on a computer running an old operating system (Windows 95 or Windows 98), you will need to open Microsoft Word and click Tools/Options/File Locations. Next to ‘User templates’ the path (location) of your templates folder will be shown.

If you cannot find or follow the path for saving the template, it may be because your computer is configured in a different way for your school. You may need to contact your school’s IT person for assistance or contact the Online Adviser (link opens in a new browser window) on your campus.
