Set discussion security for an individual student
To provide access to a discussion for an individual student:
- Click Users.
- Click Students.
- Click Next.
A search window will open:
- Click Search network as indicated by the arrow in the
image above.
A second search window will open:
- Enter the student's name in reverse order separated by a comma.
- Click Search.
The search result will display:
- Click the student's username.
- Click Insert.
- Click Done.
The Search window will close, and the View by resource
window will reappear showing the newly added student:
- Choose the Permission you want for this student - "Write"
if you want the student to be able to post message to the
discussion, or, "Read only" if you only want the student to be able
to read the discussion .
- Click Save.
Security has now been set for the individual student, and in this example
the
student added would be able to access all discussions for this course.
