Set security for a student group

To set security for a student group:

UniSAnet Security Manager: Search for users screen showing 1) Role of new user radio buttons 2) Name or keyword or code of users and 3) Search button all highlighted  

  1. Select the Student groups radio button.
  2. Enter the course Medici area and catalogue number.

Note: The Medici area and catalogue number for each course is listed on the course information page. See Search for courses (link opens in a new browser window).

  1. Click Search.  

The search results will display.

  1. Select the appropriate course listing. Generally you would want to select the entry for the entire student body in the course – this entry is shown as UNINET\Crs-[Medici area and catalogue number] (Abbreviated course title).

Note: Searching with a Medici course code will result in a display of all groups listed in Medici for that course. There may be entries by study periods, mode of delivery (eg. internal) and groups such as lecture and tutorial. Click here for a guide to Medici codes.

  1. Click Select.

The Security Manager screen will open and the student group you have just added will be displayed.

You can repeat the steps above to add other student groups to the security.

Remember that if your Web site includes interactive UniSAnet learning objects such as discussions, chat forums or quizzes you will need to set security for these objects separately. See Set security for a discussion, chat or quiz
