Create a chat
- Go to the Content object screen (if you are viewing the live Web site view, click the Change button at the bottom of the navigation frame).
- Click the Learning objects tab as indicated by the arrow in the image above
The Learning objects screen will appear as shown in the following image.
- Click Chat as indicated by the arrow in the image above.
The UniSA computer logon window will open as shown in the following image.
- Enter your UniSA computer logon and password.
- Click OK.
The Create chat screen will open.
- Type in a Title for the new Chat.
- Type in a Greeting that everyone who logs into the Chat will see.
- If you want to publish a link to the Chat on your course homepage, click the checkbox so that a tick appears. However, if you have a course Web site (content object) it is preferable to link to the chat from there.
- Click Save.
The screen will refresh and you will see a message that the chat has been successfully created
If you ticked the checkbox to publish the new chat on your course home page go to your course home page to see if it has been added as a link in the Resources specific to this course section of the course home page.
You will now need to apply security so that your students can access the Chat. See Set security. If you are adding the new Chat to your course Web site you now need to add the Chat to your course Web site.
