Hotel Feedback

We are meeting with the offshore hotels we use in July to discuss our corporate contracts so please complete the hotel feedback form so that any issues can be discussed.  In particular we would appreciate feedback on our newer hotels such as the Holiday Inn in Singapore.

We have recently negotiated a new corporate contract with the Le Meridian in Singapore, to be used as a back up to the Holiday Inn.

Check In Times - Make sure you're there on time

Qantas Airlines

Domestic: Recommended time 1 hour before scheduled departure time.

International: Recommended time 2 hours before scheduled departure time.

Please note: Qantas does not yet support online check in for International services, only domestic. Since you will generally be travelling through to an International destination, you are unable to check in online ¨C including any domestic leg of your journey.

Please click here for more information

Singapore Airlines

International:  Recommended time 2.5 hours before scheduled departure time.

If checked in online, recommended time 2 hours before scheduled departure time.

Online check in opens 48 hours before departure and closes 2 hours before departure.

Please click here for more information

Note: Travel agents are unable to request specific seat allocation requests for Singapore Airlines bookings. We recommend joining the free Kris Flyer Program (Singapore Airlines Frequent Flyer) ¨C then you are able to log on to your profile and make requests when you check in on line. Being a Kris Flyer Member also has other advantages, such as waitlist preference.

Malaysia Airlines

World-wide, Malaysian Airlines recommend that you arrive at the airport to check in 3 hours before scheduled departure time. They cite increased security demands as the reason for this amount of time.

Malaysian Airlines issue paper tickets, not e-tickets ¨C so online check in is not available; only counter check in at the Airport.

Cathay Pacific

Worldwide, Cathay Pacific recommends that you arrive at the airport to check in 2 - 3 hours before scheduled departure time. They cite increased Customs and Immigration demands as the reason for this amount of time.

Asia Miles and Marco Polo members are able to check in online from 24 hours prior to their flight; however it is still recommended they arrive at the airport 2 hours before scheduled departure time.

Mid Year Academic Review

It¡¯s that time of the year again¡Academic Review time!

Mid year Academic Review includes study periods 6, 7, 1 & 2.

SAS will run the Academic Review batch process on 16 July for both onshore and offshore students. The batch process automatically assigns the Academic Standings to the student record. Please make sure all grades are finalised by the 15th July.

Once the batch process has occurred, SAS will distribute the Academic Standings Lists. TSS will forward these lists to Program Directors for their information only. SSA¡¯s will generate the appropriate letters and forward them to partners for distribution.

Please note: Academic Review procedures differ at mid year from the end of year. Students can only be recommended for preclusion (Notified 3) at the end of the year, unless the student has already been considered by the committee for preclusion in a previous review period and is being monitored by the Program Director. No new preclusions will be assigned during mid year. Academic Review meetings will only discuss Notified 3 decision.

Please find the current policy and procedures Academic Review Policies.

August 2007 Graduation

Graduations Office have advised Transnational students eligibilities for the August 2007 Graduation Ceremony must be completed in Medici by Friday 13 July 2007.
¡¡

If you are responsible for results entry for any courses and have outstanding results not yet entered in grade rosters, the TSS SSA team would appreciate your assistance to approve the grade rosters before Friday 6 July to enable SSA¡¯s to confirm as many eligibilities as possible and process completions by the Graduation Office deadline of Friday 13 July 2007.

Transnational graduands are required to complete a Graduation registration form which indicates their attendance preference. The deadline for the Graduation registration forms to be returned to SSA¡¯s for processing is Wednesday 18 July. Unlike onshore graduands who register online, unfortunately the transnational registration process is entirely manual.

TSS will once again host a luncheon for those Undergraduate students and their families who travel to Adelaide to attend the August 07 Graduation ceremony. The function will be held at the Sebel Playford Hotel on North Terrace on Friday 17 August and invitations will be sent out this month to academics and administrative staff. Students have already been informed of graduation activities via the TSS Graduation Website.
