UniSA winners of Australian Awards for University Teaching: 1999-2004

The Australian Awards for University Teaching were national competitive awards administered by the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (now the Australian Learning and Teaching Council) designed to celebrate and reward excellence in University teaching.

The University of South Australia has won a number of the prestigious awards over many years for its distinctive teaching and learning initiatives and approaches.  These are:

2004   

Institutional Award for Provision of services to the community

Brenton Dansie and the Northen Adelaide Team. 
"Raising the educational aspirations of students in the Northern regions of Adelaide"

2002   

Institutional Award for Innovation and practical approach to the provision of support services that assist the learning of students (joint winners with University of New England)

Margaret Hicks, Monica Behrend, Virginia Hussin, Helen Johnston, Bev Kokkin, Cynthia Mchawala and Kerry O'Regan.
"UniSA's online workshops - building student academic skills for success".   

Institutional Award for Innovative and practical approach to the provision of services that enhance the quality of teaching and learning (runner up)

2000   

Prime Minister's Award for University Teacher of the Year: Team of the Year
