Teaching awards

UniSA recognises and rewards good teaching and has done so over several years through various schemes.

UniSA awards are a prestigious institutional acknowledgement of teaching excellence. With the introduction of the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (formerly Carrick Institute) Awards for Australian University Teaching in 2006, the University decided to restructure its teaching awards so as to complement the new program and to strategically foster success and professional recognition at the national level.

Both the UniSA and Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) teaching awards are competitive and subject to an application process and adjudication.

Applicants benefit by the reflection on their practice that the awards programs require. Award winners receive professional recognition and a monetary prize. Further, all applicants help to identify and benchmark teaching excellence measured by student learning outcomes, and to promote the dissemination of best practice across the University.

In a nutshell provides an 'in under five minutes' overview of both the University and National Teaching Awards.
