Jack Splash
The final day’s racing for team UniSA- Australia was never going to be
about a win. That was out of our reach.
Team Manager Dave Sanders – who was slightly apologetic after the race – said the week of aggressive riding from Team UniSA-Australia had not reaped the rewards they had hoped for.
“Losing Baden the way we did really was a big blow – we were doing pretty well up till then,” he said.
“I am still so very proud of the team because even when our chances dwindled they were out there riding with all the same aggression and passion. Today Jack was fabulous again – taking the lead and keeping us in the action.”
He said it is always fantastic to be associated with new talent such as Bobridge and Meyer and to support them in the early stages of their careers. Bobridge has only been riding seriously for three years.
“These boys have been noticed – they a great riders with oodles of potential and this week they have had the chance to show the world what they are made of.
“I’m also pretty happy with the outcome of the tour – if we couldn’t win it – it is great to see Allan Davis get there.
“He has had a tough time over the past few years and it is terrific that he has been able to have this win - it is like a new beginning for him and I like to think things started to turn around for him last year when he rode for this national team – UniSA Australia.”
