Jenny MacPhersonVictorian rider Jenny MacPherson took out the 3rd Stage of Women’s Criterium at Snapper Point, Aldinga today. The first place finish was enough to seal her third consecutive overall victory in the event.

MacPherson’s main rival, Tasmanian Belinda Goss was in the hunt all day with both stage and overall victory hinging on which of the two riders would finish ahead on the road. The battle went down top the final metres with MacPherson just edging out Goss as they crossed the finish line. 18-year-old Victorian Peta Mullins finished third.

While MacPherson and Goss finished on a identical number of points in the overall standings, Macpherson was awarded the title on count back and along with it, a $10,000 winners cheque that was presented to her by UniSA’s Director: Human Resources, Shard Lorenzo.

UniSA will once again be naming sponsor of the Women’s Criterium in 2008.
