Stage 4 - Unley to Hahndorf (152km)
The Unley to Hahndorf leg of the Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under was a hard row for Team UniSA today with and exciting start to the racing falling flat when the Liberty team broke away and stayed ahead as a small group for the rest of the race.
Some of the team had early problems including Steve Cunningham who suffered a power loss early and had to draw on every ounce of determination to stay in the race and finish.
Gene Bates early attempts to blow open the race and break up the field were reeled back and generally the team ended the day a little disappointed. Gene has retained his King of the Mountain jersey on points and is placed 6th overall.
Tomorrow Team UniSA will need to decide if their efforts go into protecting Gene's jersey and improving his standing or spreading their efforts over a better team performance overall. Tactics are still to be decided.
